A slate of industry experts is to headline the two-day super yacht conference set to debut at the 2005 Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention in Miami Beach. The first International Super Yacht Symposium is scheduled for March 16-17, 2005, in conjunction with the four-day Seatrade Convention conference, which runs March 14-17 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The Super Yacht Symposium is composed of panel discussions covering all aspects of this growing maritime sector. The Seatrade Cruise Shipping Exhibition offers symposium participants valuable opportunities to network and meet exhibitors showcasing products and services used by both super yachts and cruise ships in the design, building, operations and supply sectors. The exhibition also features the world’s largest gathering of port, harbor and marina operators, as well as port and marina infrastructure suppliers.
“The panelists participating in these sessions are top-level executives from major brand names in the super yacht industry,” said Michael Kazakoff, Vice President of CMP Princeton Inc., the symposium organizers. “The synergies between the cruise and super yacht industries are apparent.”
Kazakoff sees parallels in the business factors affecting the super yacht and cruise industries, and points out that the symposium is designed to explore them.
“The fledgling super yacht industry is just starting to grasp the problems and growing pains the cruise industry has experienced in the past 10-15 years,” he said. “Attendees can look forward to some very productive discussions on issues ranging from regulations and insurance to crewing, safety and shipbuilding.”
Panelists include luminaries from the Luxury Yacht Group, Trinity Yachts, Fraser Yachts Worldwide, Fincantieri Yachting, AB Marine, Carnival Corporation, Camper & Nicholsons Marinas Ltd., The Sacks Group Yachting Professionals, the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves and many others
